Dog Daycamp: The Benefits of Enrolling Your Pup

When you get home from work after a long day, is your pup rambunctious?

Did she soil your carpet because you didn’t get home in time to let her out?

Perhaps she chewed your favorite pair of shoes during the day because she was bored…

A relationship between a dog and a human should be rewarding, not stressful!

These are just a few of the reasons that you would benefit from enrolling your pup in dog day camp.

Here are a few more reasons your favorite fur baby will be a much happier puppy at the end of the day by taking advantage of what a dog day camp has to offer!

1.      Change up the scenery!

Psychologists have shown that when we experience a setback, making positive changes to our daily routines, even by doing something as small as taking a new route to or from work, leads to clearer thinking and happier outcomes.  They’ve also shown that the purchase of experiences rather than material items generally lead to greater happiness.

I would imagine the same to be true for our furry loved ones.  If you have been sitting in front of a window, staring at the same tree everyday for months, it would most likely be beneficial to go out and experience something new for a change, perhaps even meet someone and make new friends.

Which leads me to my second point…

2.      Make friends at dog day camp!

Enrolling your puppy in a dog day camp will allow her to acquire the proper socialization skills that every dog should have.  Ideally, proper socialization of your dog should start between the early ages of 3 to 14 weeks, however, it’s never too late to begin.

The experience of a dog day camp lets your dog enjoy the benefits of fitting in with a group of other dogs in similar situations to them, as well as interact with loving humans who spend their lives making sure ‘man’s best friend’ doesn’t suffer from loneliness and depression by being cooped up in the house all day.  Also, at the end of a fun day of interaction, your pup will be worn out and ready for some good rest and relaxation with you!

3.      Let me out!… I need to pee!

Even if you’re usually reliable about getting home during the day to let your pup outside to use the bathroom, occasionally things come up that may prevent you from doing so.  This can be a very stressful situation if you’ve got to choose between interfering with your work, or possibly having damaged that new carpet you recently installed.  It can also have a negative impact on your dog’s health.  When you enroll your pup in a dog day camp, you can rest assured knowing that she will not be uncomfortable, and that your environment will remain fresh and clean. With regular scheduled bathroom breaks, and somebody available to clean up after your dog if she does happen to have an accident, your pup will not have to suffer from holding it in all day or being embarrassed by going inside.

So, there you have it, just a few of the many benefits associated with enrolling your pup in a dog day camp.
